In fact, Raman was correct and James Brown was the “Godfather of Soul.” I do not recall Ray Charles being refered to as a Godfather of anything. He certainly had soul though.
OOPS! perhaps it is my personal preference that reared its head – I grew up with a great respect for Ray Charles and his music and his humour. Actually, I have nothing to say about Mr. Brown.

I realise this is perhaps beside the point of the post – but wasn’t Ray Charles the ‘Godfather of Soul’? I thought so at least.
Wish we had more ‘big’ names come to Santa Fe – they tend to go more to Albuquerque [Grossness] – who really wants to travel that far!!!
