A few thunderstorms rolled through earlier tonite with a lot of lightning. I’d just decided to shut of the tube and unplug a few things when a bolt hit someone on the street. The block went black.

I shut down the mac mini since I had a feeling we’d be down awhile. It ended up being four hours (amazingly short by village standards). It was a bit frustrating since it was truly a “one block in the entire village” event. Twenty feet away sat a house bathing in the elegance of power as I used the bright screen of my iBook to look up the phone number of the power company.

Storms are going to be rolling through for the next four days. Living on the highest block in the area has its upside, but the downside is definitely the stray bolts of lightning. Hopefully no more power outages…since there is even less to do around here when there is no power.

The radar shows another band of storms about 40 minutes away. Fun! I love a good thunderstorm.
