I’m sure every single person in C-Ville is currently watching House, since the most popular person in the history of this village is on that show playing a musical savant. Will he be cured? Will House kill him?
Since C-Ville ranks #186 out of 210 in TV viewing markets (down one from last year), I wonder if everyone in town is gathered up around their sets like in the Waltons (of course, that show was here in Virginny).
A pity that the local station doesn’t broadcast in HDTV. Maybe then I would watch it.
Actually, Charlottesville is market #182, UP four from last year.
DMB aside, “House” is a fantastic show! Hugh Laurie is really wonderful in that role. Actually, his character reminds me a lot of someone I know, Doc…

Maybe House is more like Doc. Clever, sarcastic, loner. No wife or kids. General distaste for humans. Cold, distant, analytical. Gets funnier when he is abusing substances.
When did (removed by Doc) become “The Doc”? I guess he’s now a well-known local icon in C-ville.

I don’t think it is right for people to assume that everyone’s goal should be to settle down and get married. In fact, if I were to suggest people get divorced to be happy, they would probably be insulted. Single people in this country are treated like second-class citizens. If you are single and don’t believe in god, doubly so. Those don’t happen to be two protected classes, however. As long as people do what makes them happy and fulfilled, and they are respectful of others, they shouldn’t feel pressured to live up to the expectations of others. I am sure you agree, I just wanted to share that. It is obvious from what Doc writes, that he finds it difficult to live in an area that is so big on marriage, children, (smoking) and God, when those are not his priorities.
