Monday is supposed to be the grand opening of the new downtown bus station. Will the bus service shut down for the day to celebrate? I remember shut down one day about two years ago when someone passed away.
I really wonder if it makes any sense to put the main city bus station on a small road, but very little that this village does is logical – so why change now?

saw your downtown photos while browsing around at charlottesville photos on flickr and totally had to comment! ha, i used to work at an office right across the street from this new bus terminal, so i, too remember when it closed, i think in early 2005. and for the longest time, traffic was one way, which was quite dangerous. who knew it’d take so long!? nice photos. thanks for sharing them.
