Nothing quite like starting the day by running 10 miles. As I said, I had only done two runs over 6 miles this year (last Sunday and Wednesday), and they were both rather slow. I’m feeling in pretty good shape, but not ready for 10 miles.
My fingers (and the rest of my parts) are already getting tired now that I’m on the couch at home, so I’ll cut this short for now.
Last year I was a few seconds over 75 minutes. This year I beat that by just a bit….74 minutes and 39 seconds.
More to follow once I’ve laid motionless for a day or two
There will even be some pictures of me running like a fool past the C-Ville courthouse, and blood shooting out of my toe after the race!

Whoo Hoo - my goal today is to make it from my office to the livivng room - you have more stamina than I for sure. Take care and be safe. Look forward to the pictures - blood coming out of the toe - well I don’t know about that - kinda like thinking about J J running naked down the aisle of an airplane. Not what I would choose to focus on - Naked and bloody -
…
What a fantastic day it was for the Charlottesville Ten Miler this morning! As far as I am concerned it could not have been better. Congratulations on beating last years time, especially since you hadn’t trained enough.
THAT SAID:
Last year I did it in 80 minutes. This year I got it down to 77:23. I’m going to pass you next year. I’m pretty sure that I am at least ten years older than you and I’m still getting faster. The UVa SPEED clinic is a wonderful place!
