I still haven’t gotten over the Fins loss to the Steelers. It was another Snowplow Game. Crushing. Of course with 14 straight losses now I really continue to wonder what a win would feel like. I can’t even remember what it feels like.
The shock of the day is brought to your by Vegas. The Fins are currently favored in the game this weekend against the Jets.
From a realistic standpoint, this is without a doubt the best chance for a win this year. I’m still holding out for the Fins to beat the unbeaten Pats in game 15. We’ll see how that goes…

Is UVA getting ready to offer a new major, or were these students just thinking outside the box?
Maybe they should offer a class in driving skills. Fool me once – shame on you. Fool me twice – shame on me. Fool me a third time…is that a B.S.?

DOWNTOWN MALL AREA (CNN – Charlottesville News Network) — Local authorities manning the checkpoint near the mass transit center stopped a wedding convoy to find that the purported bride was a wanted Charlottesville blogging suspect, an official said earlier today.
The local authorities set up the checkpoint last week in the downtown area about 50 feet south of something owned by the Crapshaw. The authorities became suspicious of the convoy because its members — other than the “bride” — were all male and did not look like typical computer geeks as is common in the area (it was reported that none were using iPhones).
Everyone was ordered out of the car, the official said. The “bride” did not want to raise his
veil at first, but eventually complied.
Upon inspection of the convoy, authorities found a stubbly-faced man, Outskirts Guy, decked out in a white bride’s dress and veil.
Outskirts Guy was wanted for blog-related humor that some don’t find funny, the authorities said, as well as making a statement that the Miami Dolphins would beat the Steelers on MNF.

Supermarket on the mall is a dead project…won’t be happening in the old A&N building. Why eat food? One of the people on the noon and 5pm news on NBC29 seems to have been involved in something “messy” at their last station and got “sent” to a small tv market. We are definitely small.
UVA is a good football team. Certainly worth paying someone two million each and every year. In the Washington Post there was a good story about VT punishing UVA. It said that UVA was stuck with Groh, since they can’t afford to buy out his contract. In the Big 10 (where they actually do play football) coaches will resign when they lose to their rival 7 out of 8 times. Will Al speak?

A warm evening…will it really be cooler tomorrow? The moon was rather full. Leaves are everywhere. The trees are bare. Not a person to be seen.

There sure are a lot of sirens zipping through downtown C-Ville this evening. Anyone know what is burning or involved in a collision?

Burnout, says Farber, is “the gap between expectation and reward,” which may have the most relevance to New Yorkers. This has always been a city of inflated expectations.
Am I burned out because Charlottesville is a village of deflated anticipation?

The Fins losing rolled along against the Bills last Sunday. I hadn’t had the energy to mention it here for the past week. Losing has been a 100% sure thing every single week for the past year. Although they lost, they did make the news this week. A new quarterback will finally start. An old running back is coming back after 18 months of “vacation.”
It is so exciting to be starting the Beck dynasty. It will be fun to see if Ricky can still run (can’t play until the Pittsburgh prime time game).
It is almost dawn. Will the sun come up?

Seems as if the C-Ville Track Club site has become a big ad. Maybe they forgot to pay for renewal.
Wonder if they will ever get a new site. I wonder if there will ever be a stadium seating theater in this village. I wonder if the local ABC, FOX, or CBS will ever broadcast in HD. I wonder if there are any runs around here in the near future.
I wonder too many things for a resident of this village.
Update: 1 day later the site is back up…

Kikis lunchtime adventure will be wrapping things up next week. If you want one last chance for a good fresh juice or a wrap, be sure to get there before turkey gets served.
Best of luck!
