For some odd reason the village continues to raise my home assessment by 18% every single year. Of course, home values have plummeted during that same period of time. I guess that means the village has some spare cash for things such as a 7.5 million dollar pile of bricks, fancy timer clocks on the bus stops, and yurts for some.

However, it seems the village can’t afford a pine tree, so if you happen to have one in your yard you want removed, feel free to let them know. For your effort you will get your name mentioned at some ceremony no one will remember a day later.

I do remember the year the tree was stolen after it went up. That was pretty funny. Maybe two people should donate trees. The “starter” and the “backup” tree.

Is it sad that our village has to beg for a tree?
