My knees are very similar to the HD on this server. Fine one day, and then poof the next. For about a week I could barely walk, then I could barely work out. Last week in Dallas my knees were killing me every night after a lot of daily walking, but I started feeling a bit better each night (maybe due to the margaritas).
A few days ago I still couldn’t jog three blocks to the gym without noticeable pain. Yesterday the jog felt pretty good. Today I ran for the first time in a long, long time and did my standard eight mile course. I ran at a rather slow methodical pace, but by mile five I was truly exhausted. I was pretty much toast by the time I got done. I think I spend so much time trying not to put any stress on my knees that I’m wasting a ton of energy in the process. That, and I’m outta shape again.
My knees then sat on ice for a bit. There is a bit of pain right now, but nothing severe. In the back of my mind I’m thinking I may try to run next Saturday, but in my heart (and legs) I know that would be a foolish thing to try. As someone told me, the $60 I paid for entrance fee is not replaceable, but my knees are priceless.
Guess we’ll see how I feel tomorrow.
