Sunday evening. I think I’ve had a headache since I got back from vacation. C-Ville is true misery. I’ve started to notice that the only people that like C-Ville are the ones that have lots of kids. They never deal with anything other than schools and other parents. They don’t take time to notice what a miserable place this is for anyone that is NOT a breeder. How much longer can I last?
This tiny low-tech village has given me a permanent headache. Maybe the far above average temperature/humidity is doing that to me. I wonder if I’ll get to turn my AC off by the end of the week (slim chance of getting below 84F). Almost 90 today. Is this still July? Maybe the fact that much of the US now has HD cable. Our cable company has said that will never happen here. Maybe the local TV stations would let us get national feeds from a satellite provider. No, they don’t want to do that. They think their 4 Watt stations are better than those from cities.
My team got to spend 1 week as an undefeated team after going 4-12 last year. It felt good. Today they were brought back to reality, but it is actually a decent reality. They are no longer a joke. Despite the loss full of errors, they are still tied for first in the AFC East. Go Phins. At least Michigan and MSU rolled along this weekend.
Now I think I’ll go back to looking at the local news. Racial crimes at UVA, guns dropping out of pants at UVA greek parties, date rape settlement cases from UVA, bomb scares at police station, building a 12 million dollar amphitheater for outdoor events without a single bike rack, and all the other fun local stuff.
My neighbors are moving. I hope someone decent moves in. Bad seeds can ruin an apple, and bad neighbors ruin life. The percentage of good vs bad here in C-Ville is not giving me hope.
I think I’ll just curl up on the couch and dream of other cities…

While I was pounding in steaks around my fence today, there were screaming little children next door. Something really annoying about the screeching and whining. On the other hand, it was close to 90 and I got my heart rate up higher than I’ve had it in months with the exercise.
RP,
just look at the bright side: The Spartans and Seminoles both won
I just came back from a trip to Tucson, AZ, I have to admit that the climate there is quite a bit different from here… My skin is not used to the dry weather anymore, my eyes and lips were hurting badly… Now I’m back in the ‘blessed’ humidity
I was there at an E/PO meeting and met an ‘NSF’ postdoc from UVa, he did like C-ville more than you, but than again, he probably was a bit younger than you and hangs around Co-Eds all the time
Gotta love them UVA coeds. As they say, Hoos your daddy?
