For those that think positively of Thomas Jefferson, The University of Virginia, and the original 13 states, think again. The capitol of Virginia is Richmond (remember that South will rise again crap). The capitol of this commonwealth (not a State) can’t even broadcast an entire show in HD. ABC is a network that creates and publicizes HD shows.
It is a crime that the local stations can’t remember to push the “ON” button for HD after showing their pointless logo. The logo will appear, and if the station tech is off on a smoke break (that is my personal guess) the station will not return to HD for anywhere from 15 minutes to 2 hours.
Since the local stations can not even broadcast as the parent network desires, why won’t they give satellite viewers the option to get the national feeds.
Local stations should really be eliminated from the grand scheme of media. Remove the pointless bandwidth. Remove the local newscasters. Remove the waste. There is absolutely no point for local stations in our global society.

I don’t think you can blame Thomas Jefferson nor the University of Virginia for Richmond’s inability to broadcast HD on your tv screen. I also don’t think that you should say the whole state is an embarassment - surely if you moved to Northern Virginia you would find the HD you are looking for. Are you trying to incite an in-state riot of HD inequality?
Well, since NOVA is really not part of Virginia (according to anyone that doesn’t live in NOVA) I have to exclude that from my statement. NOVA is its own world.
I would definitely say there is inequality of technology here in VA. You have NOVA, and then you have the rest. As for riots, Americans don’t have as much unrest as the French (i.e. Americans are lazy…like me).
Once you have watched HD, it causes severe pain to see that primitive low def. So severe that I will blame anyone and everyone associated with the commonwealth. I still have a hard time comprehending why a state capitol has so many problems with technology. Shouldn’t a capitol (and the 4th most populous city in VA) be able to use current technology?
