A four day vacation has arrived. Tomorrow I was going to run a 5k, but they charge a ream of money for the race, don’t advertise through traditional methods, and close registration very early, so the elitist Boar’s Head people won’t get my bucks. If it was going to be warm out in the morning I probably would have run it with no number, if you know what I mean. It won’t be warm.
The current forecast is a 60% chance of rain/snow. Less than an inch total. For tomorrow they say the winds could be gusting over 40 mph (although it is supposed to clear up). I think I’ll try to sleep in under a nice warm blanket.
Now, what to do in four days. I just stopped working about 20 minutes ago. The office was rather dark when I left. Me, myself, and I. I did the gym, and am now wondering what to do for dinner. I usually eat around prime time TV, and the big thing tonite is Lost. I was thinking of going out to pick up some Thai food at Lime Leaf, but am rather indecisive right now. With the turkey tomorrow should I do Thai tonite? With Lost on, the Thai sure would taste good. I wonder if Lime Leaf is open tonite (my guess is yes).
The rough part is that it is about a 45 minute round trip (even though it is only five miles away). The C-Ville light/road system is a living nightmare for a small village. I’m always shocked at the fact that when I jog I can often beat a car that is going from downtown C-Ville to the far side of UVA (about three miles).
Enough ranting…I’ll try calling them in about 20 minutes and if they are open I’m getting the Thai. I’m impressed that ABC is running a brand new Lost tonite. Rather shocking. CBS is running a new Survivor tomorrow, and NBC is running two episodes of the Don (aka The Apprentice).
I’ve been so busy with work lately that the 13 hour work days were starting to seem short. I’m not sure I remember how to deal with some time off (I usually work all weekend also…). No work this weekend! I promise.
Now, what will I do for four day? Any ideas? Read? Watch football? Clean the house? Shop at 5am like the other crazy people (not a chance you will find me out there)? Drive an hour to go see Harry Potter at a real theater (C-Ville still doesn’t have one, and the plans for one keep vanishing)?
Or just truly relax and do nothing but watch movies on HBO?
[Update: Lime Leaf was closed! Boooo...looks like some mixed veggies with Lost]
