So on my list of things to do I got one done and took a shot at the other. Off I went to the bookstore to look around. There were some great books about RAW format and what you can do with it (i.e. why it is best for taking digital photos). I haven’t let started to play with that but was curious. I also looked through a few other photoshop books. It has been many moons since I actually knew anything about photoshop. Maybe I never have. I’ll probably pick something up from Amazon one of these days.
While there I wanted to look at books for what to do with money. I’ll be honest, after 1.5 hours of reading through stuff I really have no idea where the hell to even start in the world of investment. I’m money ignorant. I think I’ll go chat with my bank and see what their free advice will buy me. Of course, we all know you don’t get nothing for free.

Yeah, RAW is really amazing in how you can pull a decent photo out of what looks like crap, ie under exposed etc. With a decent exposure it’s even more amazing how you can tweak things. It’s nice that now iPhoto and iViewmedia let you deal and work with RAW images directly without having to pull them into photoshop.
What’s wrong with Photoshop? Other than the cost…
I still find iPhoto a bit quirky on many occasions. Lightroom looks interesting. I wonder how much they will charge for that when it is ready.
I have to say, I am loving this new Photoshop CS2 on my iMac.
egh, there’s nothing wrong with photoshop CS as far as I can tell. It’s just fun to see that with iview and iphoto you can deal with the raw images directly. And the new version of iphoto is especially nice with the full screen editing. Photoshop is great for manipulating photos, but often I find that I just need to print out a photo from a collection and it’s just a pain to boot up photoshop and tweak levels or curves and such, then save it as a touched up photo. I like the safety net that “revert to original” gives me in iPhoto. Though, I have to admit my 933Mhz G4 is showing it’s age and I’m thinking of getting one of the new imacs….
iMac’s great - but do you want intel in it? I feel likke Steve Jobs sold us out tho…
I do agree about iPhoto…
