Today is so village. It is yet another 70 degree day here in the middle of January. Tomorrow should at least get back down to around 50. Yet another year in which winter clothes never make it out of a box. Kids are EVERYWHERE on the pointlessly historic downtown mall. The other malls are overflowing with rich shoppers. Kids are everywhere. There is nothing of interest to do at all. Kids are everywhere, all talking to others on their cell phones. The ones behind me are planning on going to a local bar for dinner (did I mention there are generally more kids at happy hour than adults). Breeders run rampant around here. There are more every day.
There is nothing to do. I managed to sleep in until 9:30. Then I watched a movie. Then I thought about going to the gym, but with the miserable equipment they have I just didn’t feel up to it. Instead I watched another movie. I then headed out to the coffee shop, but there were so many results running around loose that I decided to just go home and take a nap. Finally I couldn’t take it anymore so here I am at the coffee shop. Breeders and results everywhere. Shoppers. The line to get some java is a typical 20 minute line. I can type while standing in line.
The accent is killing me. If you see the vastly overrated movie Junebug you get a good feeling for the village. Slow, painful, and methodical. Church and children. That is life.
This is the village. Welcome to hell.

Man, you seem to really hate it here. Where do you go where you have to wait 20 minutes for coffee? Wouldn’t it be faster to walk to the next coffee shop?
MH on any weekend…20 minutes…
Others…don’t have as much vibe of crazies. Where else can you go and listen to people discussing the future of C-Ville over a cup of coffee and a snack, and then get up and leave without putting their dishes in the busing tub…where things are supposed to go. It’s not like they aren’t there every weekend…they just choose not to bus.
Someone needs to take the old A & N and turn it in to a comfy coffee shop to compete with MH.
