OK, it is clear no one has a clue how many dates I’ll get this year, so I’ve migrated to a new question. Which primetime show is the best currently on TV? Your choice is limited to things I think are relevant to the question
I’m currently feeling rather stuck in a rut. My wrist is still driving me nuts. I’m sick of our miserable gym here in the village (maybe I’ll rant about their new miserable equipment one of these days). The two degrees of separation of this entire village is killing me. The thought of trying to do taxes this year has me sweating already. The month of January has almost vanished in the blink of an eye. What should I do with my money? When should I take a vacation this year? Where should I go? Should I set any goals for the year? Does a goal have significance?
Oy. I wish my brain had an on/off switch.

What, “MXC” isn’t an option?
It’s hard for me to vote on that poll, since I literally haven’t seen *any* of those shows. At the risk of sounding like a “breeder,” the only shows I watch these days are on Playhouse Disney. Now, if you were to put up a poll on whether “Little Einsteins” are better than “The Doodlebops,” well, then I could participate.
Anyway, from the synopsis I hear of shows at work, I suspect I’d like “Lost” best out of your list if I were ever to have the time to watch them. “Desperate Housewives” sounds, frankly, terrible, but maybe it’s one of those things you have to see to appreciate, like “Buffy the Vampire Slayer.”
What is MXC? I have to admit to not knowing much about any of these. I’m still waiting for them to bring back Earth 2. With my DVR, I can record things and then never need to watch them!
The O.C.? Doesn’t that show skew a bit…young for you?
Of course, what the hell do I know. I actually enjoy ‘Phil of the Future’ on the Disney Channel.
I’ll submit my vote for Lost, but I think the new Battlestar Galactica beats them all for writing quality.
Of course, Lost is the only ones listed that I actually have looked at (or have any interest in looking at)..
MXC is the “Most Extreme Elimination Challenge”. It airs on Spike, I think. Basically, it’s a western translation of a crazy Japanese game show that forces people into crazy physical stunts like walking across the tops of giant dominos or sliding down a waterfall in a giant rice bowl. The translators intentionally mistranslate practically everything the hosts and contestants say for comedic effect.
I have to agree, MXC has its moments.
The problem with Spike TV is that it is not a high def station. If it ain’t HD, it ain’t TV
I almost refuse to watch low def TV. It pains me to do so.
The O.C. is considered by many a “teen soap,” but it many consider it a rather adult-oriented intelligent show if you spend time watching it. It was discussed in the book “TV Makes You Smarter” that came out a year or so ago. The references the show makes to classic literature and art are rather amazing. They also do lots of intelligent spoofs on their own show, such as having a fictional show they all watch, and the ratings of that have been going down in the 2nd year. A great way for writers to say what they hear. Fun stuff.
I would have to say these are my favorite primetime shows: (in order)
1. One Tree Hill (CW)
I would have to say these are my favorite primetime shows: (in order) One Tree Hill, Desperate Housewives, Supernatural, Everybody Hates Chris and Americas Next Top Model. And, yes, Desperate Housewives is a greatt show its great for everyone my dad even watches it! In fact MY WHOLE family watches it including my 12 year old cousin!
