My eternal cleaning challenge is getting a bit of attention this evening. I stumbled upon a box full of cardboard tubes holding posters. Lots and lots of posters.
As I went through them to try to sort them out I started wondering why I’m keeping some and pitching others. Why do I hang on to any of them? I don’t plan to ever put them up anywhere. Will they be worth something someday? Maybe, but I’m sure it won’t be enough to make it worth my while to take care of them for that long.
Posters I’m keeping: Apple Think Different Campaign (15 different people), an autographed poster of the Sports Night TV show, a poster from one of the all time sci-fi one year shows (Earth 2), and a poster I had on my door for many, many years as I was working towards my thesis. That one is a small version of the mural that was done for the Smithsonian that shows the entire evolution of life: from simple organisms to humans. The joke of course was to put a post-it note a few inches above the human and write, “Thesis completed on this date.” Get it…ha ha…
While typing this I decided to go look around for the Apple posters I have (you know us Mac people…we never pitch stuff). I’m a bit shocked. The posters tend to run between $150 to $400 depending on which person is on it. I’ve got 15 out of the 20 they released. I guess I was wrong about that not being worth much statement…perhaps it is good I’ve held on to these posters for so long!

Think different.

So the current push here in the village is to change rules so that if you don’t have money you can still buy a house at an affordable rate. What has happened to America where the goal is to try to make money?
When you can’t afford a house in a certain area don’t you typically look elsewhere? I couldn’t afford to go to Harvard so off I went to community college. I got a degree. I couldn’t afford to buy a house until after my big 40. I rented many years. Eventually I found one I could afford. There seem to be so many other things that could use money. Public transportation. Health care. Education. Those sound important.
Oh well. I’ll just keep working. 16 hours of it today. How many tomorrow? I need to sleep. I, Robot.

OK readers, let’s hear what you have to say. So far it isn’t looking good. Early results show that “less than zero” dates is leading the race. I think that was a movie. Currently I’m watching Gaslight from 1944. Hmm…no connection, but you can never go wrong with Ingrid Bergman.
Anyway, I added a poll over there on the left side of my blog. Vote away. Let me know what to expect

So for the first time since I got my HDTV WRIC managed to show a full evening of prime time television in HD. Not once did they forget to turn the HD back on after showing a local commercial or news segment. One can only hope that the streak will continue!
Now…when will all the other local stations go HD with all 5 of their watts.

So on my list of things to do I got one done and took a shot at the other. Off I went to the bookstore to look around. There were some great books about RAW format and what you can do with it (i.e. why it is best for taking digital photos). I haven’t let started to play with that but was curious. I also looked through a few other photoshop books. It has been many moons since I actually knew anything about photoshop. Maybe I never have. I’ll probably pick something up from Amazon one of these days.
While there I wanted to look at books for what to do with money. I’ll be honest, after 1.5 hours of reading through stuff I really have no idea where the hell to even start in the world of investment. I’m money ignorant. I think I’ll go chat with my bank and see what their free advice will buy me. Of course, we all know you don’t get nothing for free.

In no particular order: Decide what to do with my money. Start going through my photos from the northwest. Migrate to the next room on my winter cleaning frenzy. Get in four workouts this week. Lose two pounds (on way to getting back down to 150…I’m up to 155…ugh). Watch those fine shows called Lost and American Idol. Head back to the online dating world. Make it to the bookstore for some browsing. Work.
The electrochemical process referred to as life continues.

I updated the RIN style sheet a bit today to the latest version, and changed a few things in the sidebar. Was this for any reason? No. Should I even bother playing with any of this stuff? Probably not.
Geeks can be easily amused.

As the sun was heading down the sky became a rather vibrant orange. It was so odd that I crawled off the couch and made it out to my front porch.

OK…after a week in the 60’s it is currently 38 degrees. A few slushy white things actually came down for a few minutes. What are these slushy things? I’ve never seen them before in the village. Could it be snow?
It is a pity the ground is a comfy 50 degrees. Absolutely nothing will collect. I have a feeling autos are already running in to each other, driving off the road, and stopping under bridges for safety.
10 day forecast. Mid 50’s all next week. Brrr…

Another typical day in the village. The coffee shop is full of the C-Villians. A documentary really needs to be made about this village and why small towns will not exist in the future society. When will this breeder society (BS) get moved to an island where humans don’t have to deal with them?
