Charlottesville might be the most technologically backward place imaginable. I hate this village. I truly hate it.
Then you must get out - get the hell out!!!
Then please, find some place better suited to you. We encourage you to find a place you love that will love you back.
Awww… thanks; we villagers truly hate you too! Warm fuzzies all around.
Is this about HDTV again?
Update on my comment:
Get the hell out before it destroys you - you need/should find some peace…
He Doc,
Have you ever lived in a place you didn’t hate? I think I’ve heard you rant about every place you’ve ever lived…
Charlottesville isn’t so bad but it’s no small town utopia either. I like living here but I’ll have to leave in a few years because I won’t be able to afford to stay here after I retire. I get tired of hearing about how special the town is. There’s plenty of crap here and you’re free to stay here and go ahead and bitch and moan and complain all you want. If people don’t like it they don’t have to read your blog.
AMEN!!! - I have alluded to that in the past and was scolded for it - tough - if you need to vent - go for it! Just take good care of yourself!!! If folks don’t like it well then - that’s life - or some people say… shot down in April - back up in May - and so it goes. Everything reminds me of a song…
No one should feel censored on their own web page. (I am surprised Palestar felt she was scolded for speaking her mind on her webpage.) I am sure Doc won’t stop bitching and moaning when he feels he needs to. I don’t think Charlottesville is killing him. No place would be perfect. There are stupid decisions made in every village/town/city. Just look at Davenport, Iowa. We have a new “sky bridge” across the main road by the river. It cost many millions, and it glows like some kind of glass-disco-phallus. It is shot at by kids with BB guns. It is urinated in by homeless people (and drunks, I’m sure). It smells and is expensive to keep up. Why do we have it? Because it lets the casino workers walk back to the parking ramp across the street at 3AM. No one was killed by the traffic, the City Council just decided that it was important to pay an architect for this boondoggle. That is typical in a city where gambling is more important than protecting downtown businesses against 500-year floods which now occur every couple years from the Mississippi River.
Thanks for the inspiration, Doc! Now I must start complaining about MY local community!
FYI - not that it matters - but - was actually scolded on Doc web site some time ago - but it is all okay - I just consider the source - and life goes on and on… I don’t belive anyone should be censored on any site.
Oh, yes regarding bitching about politics - there is the NM government and the Santa Fe attitude. Here we have majour corrupt - ness from mostly Democrats -and in DC we see it from the current administration [mostly Rebublicans] - it is local and national - international - polititians are a breed apart and we should as Doc does - keep on keeping on - venting. Doc like the South/the Phoenix will - I pray keep on rising above it all while he vents - whoo-hoo!
