Rich successful person A in environment B has a break up with person C. A heads off to environment D, gets drunk and spills guts on day 1. On day 2 A begins to wander around in D. After having odd things happen on day 2, A decides staying in D is the best thing possible to get over C.
A = Heche
B = big city in mainland America
C = some guy who cheated on A
D = small city in Alaska
Life for A will be odd, but as the show moves forward everything will have a happy ending in D.
I’ve seen this once too often. Some of the bit characters were pretty good actors and probably just wanted to do this show so they could get up to Alaska for the pilot episode. I bet many of the future episodes will get filmed in a studio lot. To top off my feeling about this show they featured smoking throughout the show, waste of gas by driving around needlessly in big vehicles, and throwing litter (such as bridal gowns) in to a pristine Alaskan wilderness (that represented A breaking free from C and realizing she belonged in D).
The show is moving to Friday evening, so it will probably get a small group that watches it, but I don’t predict more than half a season (although you never know the power of women…which I think will be most of the viewers). In HD the scenes of Alaska were pretty nice. Last night it lost more than 20% of its viewers by the halfway point of the show when they fell asleep or looked to see what else was on. Never a good sign.
Tonight…nothing new.

I tivo’d it may watch it tomorrow. Off to watch House now. We will see.
House was great this week! He’s always at his evil best when asked to treat children. Add in alien abduction? Pure comedy gold.
Kind of glad to hear that Men in Trees is as bad as I suspected. For anyone who ever saw Northern Exposure, I can’t help but think that they’d be sadly disappointed by this knockoff. Add in Heche and, well, that really doesn’t help matters.
Justice continues to keep me entertained. Victor Garber is just so much fun. Liking the high-tech research TNT & G can manage to use in their courtroom exploits. Loving the bitchy blonde on the faux Court TV show. But thinking that one of these days, they simply have to draw a guilty client. That’s three weeks in a row, defending the innocent. I’m sticking with it. Good times!
Loved House last night - mixed emotions regarding Men in Trees - don’t see to many similarities to Northern Exposure - other than the location being Alaska. I am willing to give it another chance - adopting the wait and see mode. I DO like Ann Heche - but if series winds up sucky - as it were - then that is not going to be enough to hold me.
Worked with some of the people in N.E. - but if it had been awful - no way would I watched it. I would compare it to - if I had friends who owned a restaurant and food was gross - I would not be eatin’ there.
