I watched my Tivoed pilot episode of The Class last night. Nothing at all special about it, just a basic Friends clone. If I had the flu and nothing else of interest was on in HD I might watch it again…otherwise, it is off the radar.
I caught Jericho this evening. It felt similar to the Invasion show from ABC last year, or that other one (on NBC?) where the fish were taking over the planet. I never felt a connection to either of those, and I fear Bones is a bit more enjoyable than being trapped in a city where people worry about the children (did Michael “Thriller” Jackson sing something about children?). If Jericho makes it through the season maybe I’ll pick it up on DVD for summer doldrums next year.
I haven’t yet watched Smith from last night, and may or may not watch Kidnapped tonite. The Kidnapped synopsis says, “The son of a self-made millionaire vanishes on his way to school; a rebel investigator must retrieve the victim.” Aren’t there already six shows out that match that description? Ugh. There are at least a few well known actors in that one.
Thursday evening is loaded with TV this year. There are so many shows I’m going to have to contemplate when to Tivo all the various things (if only regulators would allow DTV subscribers to get both west and east coast HD feeds…but higher ups further reduced viewer freedom with that blow). Shark even pops up in the 10pm slot. With James Woods and Jeri ‘Melrose Place, Boston Public, 7 of 9, The OC, Boston Legal’ Ryan how could you possibly go wrong!
If you haven’t dropped over to my Flickr pics recently you should (because I told you to). They include shots of the local news getting ridiculed, a horse filing to get a sign from the village elders, some funky sidewalk gum placement, and a notice that the mall police are watching you.
Now…when does the new OC get cranked up this year…can we just skip baseball this fall? I hope my new/replacement iMac arrives before that. They say it should ship this week…and get here next week. I sure hope it has no scratches.

I tried “Kidnapped” last night. Not thinking I’ll stick with it. It doesn’t suck; I just think that I worked out whatever need I had to see that plot in “Vanished.” And I can’t even bring myself to watch “Vanished” anymore. Ugh. Pity that it should have ruined all the copy-plot shows which started later in the season, for me.
“Boston Legal” was a little weird for me, this week. I do have a soft spot in my heart for Hands, but that plot was a bit too far afield for me. And, although I dearly love Parker Posey, I prefer the times that both Shatner and Spader aren’t involved in relationships which take away from their friendship. So, I’m not as sorry to see her go as I thought I’d be. The lung case was pretty unrealistic. We don’t so much have laws against selling your body parts to protect the integrity of the organ registry as to stop organ farming. Which is a pretty good reason to have those laws. I think in the case itself, there probably wasn’t enough evidence to make Fox culpable (certainly, I think he did basically buy a lung, but they did sell the friendship angle), however they definitely hightlighted the wrong reasoning supporting the laws themselves.
“Justice” improved for me, last night, with the addition of a recurring character played by Erin Daniels (Dana Fairbanks on “The L-Word”). Another decent story, but ONE of these days the firm HAS to simply defend a guilty person!
Thursday is WAY too stacked up. Looking forward to “Gray’s Anatomy,” though. And “CSI,” “Shark,” “The Office” and possibly “Ugly Betty” (it has good buzz and I like the actress). BTW, The OC starts Nov. 2. Check this page (with season premiere dates listed below the day grids): http://epguides.com/grid/fall.shtml
Weird - I heard last season that the OC had been canceled. Never watched it tho - I don’t do Grey’s Anatomy or Desperate Houswife’s either - I can only watch so much TV - they are just not on my list.. I do the CSI’s sometimes.
I don’t do Shatner or Spader - Parker Posey is great in most everything she does. I don’t know about this show - another show not on my list. James Woods - ugh!
We will see what stay’s and what goes… we will live I am sure. I like Bones and House.
If you want to get Apple’s attention - if they don’t give you the proper computer in great condition - tell them you will dispute their charge - on your credit card. That usually gets you some well earned [and deserved] proper attention. Saying prayers that you WILL get what you want. Loving the computers - disliking their customer service - to be honest it sucks big time
Hope you have your iMac SOON…
Captain Kirk should go back in the closet.
James Woods should run for President!
I don’t watch any of these shows. RP does, so why do I need to? As long as someone does, right?
James Woods should run all right - run for the hills - !
