Why does Charlottesville even think it can be called a city, or even a village for that matter. In the heart of downtown it can’t keep the power on for more than one day without a flicker or two. If the wind gusts over 20 mph it is at least an hour.
Today it was four.
Typically in a downtown you expect to have power, except on the rare occasion when people fly large airplanes in to buildings in your area. I didn’t see any reports of planes hitting SNL (is that the biggest building downtown?), so why was there no power? Was DC without power today due to wind? Did the Windy City have no power for the last umpteen years?
Why does this village continue? I used to think I hated it. Now I’m beyond that.

Augh, I know, it’s so annoying! I lived in Buffalo for 8 years– which once in awhile sees some inclement weather– I actally don’t remember the power ever going out, although I’m sure it must have gone out a few times. I don’t understand how the power ever goes out. How? Why does it go out whenever the wind blows? AUGH.
Beyond hating, eh?
You could leave, if it pains you so.
Wierd, I lived in Minnesota and New hampshire, with much worse weather. It was not until I came to Cville that I needed to buy a 10K generator and for smaller little gltiches….
