In other news, the arrest of four for having a broken plastic bb gun while trying to film a movie at UVA continues to get press. I still wish they would arrest the 6 year old girl I saw who was popping those caps that you throw on the ground. I was out running 10 miles or so and didn’t have my terrorist-threat cell phone on me. Otherwise…

Amazing. Absolutely amazing the state you live in. They arrest students with a toy, and then storm in with guns drawn and blame the panic on the play pistol? No surprise students panicked when they saw the SWAT team kicking down dormitory doors. Where was Jack Bauer when all this was happening??
Terrorism like VT or 9-11 is a terrible thing. It is dumb, really dumb of students to film a movie with a gun as a prop without telling someone, given the proximity of recent events. That said, knee jerk government reaction erodes our personal liberties more and more until we will all live in a Big Brother society. What are we doing to stem the next terrorist act of a serial killer or car bomber? Why, we are making people take their shoes off at the airport and arresting students playing with toy guns and Lite Brites! Yeah, tax dollars at work. That really makes an impact. We didn’t find Osama bin Laden this week, but we beat the crap out of a kid with a pointed stick. If he’d found his way into the cockpit of a B-52 loaded with nukes, we could all be dead!
Amazing and damn scary in just about any area we live - sorry to say.
To bad that our votes no longer count! We can’t find a 6′6″ arab wearing white robes but we can see via satellite the writing on a golf ball in grass hmmm - what’s up with that?
We are - I’m afraid already in a Big Brother society - the so-called politicans are all cut from the same cloth it seems - I really don’t trust any of them anymore. I have learned pretty much to accept that fact and say what I see and feel and be truthful and que sera - sera - at least I can speak my mind now.
You all are right - scare the crap out of the kids - intimidation - to let is know they are doing their job - and yet how did this kid murder 33 people and NO one could stop him?
JJ - are you aware NM has a law allowing people to carry concealed weapons? Proof positive that Virginia is not the only idiot state - the right to bear arms - is not actually guaranteed by the constitution - as I understand it - it refers to the militia not individuals.
You are right about the guy behind the curtain - pay attention to all the other sort of made up stuff as a child I know commented - he stated that while everyone is looking at made up things [his words] those guys are hiding all the mean stuff they are doing in that white house - out of the mouth of an 8 year old - jeez - scary words like that from a child! Apparently they know way more that we think - and no I have never discussed anything other than pokeman and disney with him. He is worried and I listened - how sad that kids even have to know about these things like terrorism, et al.
