A new site has shown up on the scene that serves local gossip daily. Can it possibly compete with my acute observations of this village? I seem to have beat the Villain on the ‘locked million dollar bathroom’ story, and the ‘trolley driving while eating a salad with a fork’ story.
We’ll see how it goes. The cVillain seems to have lots of growth potential and is running forums. Perhaps the “Villain of C” will be my successor. After having spent almost a decade dishing out the gossip of this village the summer heat is already crushing me this year…and it is only May.

curious.. what kind of traffic do you get on this site?
Some of the visitors to this site are masochistic Charlottesville “breeders” who take perverse pleasure in reading Doc’s vitriolic, rage filled outbursts attacking Charlottesville and parents.
Aren’t we all breeders?
I meant # of visitors and page views and the like.
I’m not a breeder…at least that I know about. Snip snip, cut, cut. Oh what a solution it is
Since C-Ville is small the number of readers isn’t very high. For this blog I don’t try to expand beyond this village. Other blogs I’ve done are more international in nature and bring in the masses.
But since it is a small village, it is easy to get noticed by the elders. Many of the people that run the show around here, and many things (mostly photos) from this blog make it in to everything from local free newspapers to international magazines.
I was wondering if you have any advice/suggestions/etc for a 41-yr-young DC girl who is considering moving to C’ville (my best friend lives here). Top 10 positive and negative aspects of living here? Would be much appreciated! You seem to be an authority on it!
Thanks-
Laura,
You asked Doc, I know, so please forgive me if I reply. Doc is definitely an authority on the negative aspects of living here but I haven’t read many positive comments about “the village” on this blog. Doc, are there any positive aspects at all, in your opinion, to living here?
Laura what’s important to you in a community?
Top 10, Bottom 10…sound like something fun…but first I need to clear my head and get the hell out of dodge for a week…the village leads to insanity if you spend too long here. That is why everyone leaves every time they get a chance.
But I’ll be back…you can count on it. Hmm…ten good things? Definitely need a week to think about that one.
‘Sup Outskirts! I’m a little slow on the uptake– just found your site and really enjoy it! Cville might be small, but if there’s enough room for Patricia Kluge['s ego], there should be enough room for us bloggers.
