I actually thought quite a bit about this one after the tipster passed it along and delayed posting for quite a long time. It is a strange world we live in with this web thing. But eventually I went with it. I’ve never blocked anything a tipster has passed along (that is valid), so I went with it.

No one was hurt in the incident, and I think the former station was totally incorrect for what they did. I personally would have sued them, although I don’t really know what employment contracts for TV people look like.

Admittedly; TV people are “public figures” and that opens them to criticism from all corners, some personal and some professional, and some deserved and some misguided.

Being inside the news business I can attest to the personal pain caused by people who hide behind blog comments and their venemous, snarky, and mean-hearted postings. They’ll say things hiding on a site that they’d NEVER have the courage to say to someone’s face… yet it hurts just the same.

So say what you’re going to say — but spend thirty seconds thinking about how it would land if it were written about you, being read by your friends, your family, or your children.

Just because we know where the lowest common denominator is doesn’t require us to stoop down to reach it.

One hour, forty nine minutes. Not bad. Was hoping to get down to 8 min/mile, but didn’t quite make it. I think I spent too much time drinking Gatorade every mile or two.
